I agree that all of us go through these periods at times. It's part of life and everything cannot be smooth and consistent like we would want. Hang in there with the heat.Stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06239144450368514156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8374585414476372943.post-20099355840974121692021-08-05T07:12:35.143-05:002021-08-05T07:12:35.143-05:00Thank you for the points you made in your reply. Even now Watson is very very strong and as he gets old I will have to watch that he doesn't run into me and knock me down when playing. Sadie use to do that all the time. I think the dogs pick me.Stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06239144450368514156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8374585414476372943.post-57493345178513130802021-08-05T00:12:53.067-05:002021-08-05T00:12:53.067-05:00Let's blame your lack of ambition right now on...Let's blame your lack of ambition right now on the "dog days of summer." Really, I think we each get this way from time to time, I know that I do. Plus weather has a lot to do with it. We were 94 here tonight in the mountains at 5200 feet elevation. I have lost track of how many over 90 days this summer. The warmer summer I can remember in the 36 years I have been here. Hang in there!Arrowhead Grammahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08706243383701453921noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8374585414476372943.post-45153541739641440242021-08-04T22:53:13.277-05:002021-08-04T22:53:13.277-05:00Steve, the admirer and I think you are great! And ...Steve, the admirer and I think you are great! And down days hit us all and believe me, I have had many myself. The admirer rocks my world with his antics, and when I feel like life sucks or I am just stuck in a rut, my little man comes along with a story to tell me. Because of his stroke he lost the ability to talk, so he uses sign language that is very much like "mime" language. Last Saturday, he got out of bed, collected his "hound binder" and came to me for our morning hot tea and discussion of "important stuff". For the thousandth time ( I lost count) he told me the story of his needs. He pulled up his hounds binder, which too be honest is all your hounds. A BABY blood hound is top choice right now because... it will get big and be real strong and it could learn to help him in his wheelchair. When I asked what the hound would be heling with, the admirer informed me it would be protect him and keep him safe like Walter does for you and the boys. I promised him I would look into the matter, and low and behold... he wanted me to sign an agreement that I will look for a puppy like Watson. I suggested we look for Walter dog, and the admirer told me HE wants the dog and not one that will tattle tail on him! I busted up laughing until I had watery eyes. Hang in there, you are a fantastic person and those boys and you are all a team that was made for one another. You have special abilities picking good dogs. So far I have not seen the neighbor feeding them treats through the fence. As time passes the neighbors have decreased their trips to the fence to almost nothing. I am definitely happy I chose the fence I did instead of a solid fence.Stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06239144450368514156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8374585414476372943.post-57053525538904622412021-08-04T15:49:14.448-05:002021-08-04T15:49:14.448-05:00You sure made an excellent decision when choosing ...You sure made an excellent decision when choosing that fence.! Not only did you save your beautiful view - but, the hounds & dog can still see everything too. A privacy fence would have cut off their world too much. I think the black fence really added to the looks & value of your property. Just curious - does nosey neighbor ever try to feed them treats thru the fence.? Anyway, great decision - looks great.Cactus Flowerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09509903695941117977noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8374585414476372943.post-74826705053791767702021-08-04T15:37:24.124-05:002021-08-04T15:37:24.124-05:00Yes, the hounds are the highlight and keep things ...Yes, the hounds are the highlight and keep things going. I didn't do anything today either but drink ice tea and what's a Reds day game on tv. Hot weather and Oregon just doesn't seem right. You're welcome.Stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06239144450368514156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8374585414476372943.post-14464127376547209392021-08-04T13:27:36.815-05:002021-08-04T13:27:36.815-05:00o.k. LOL I feel much the same as you, so you're not the only one feeling that way. The good thing for you is you have the hounds and the dog to help keep you going. I blame my lack of motivation on this hot weather. Don't know what I'll do when it cools down. Walter is one funny guy. Henry is looking longer and more filled out. He's a great looking hound. Watson is growing by the hour, as you say. He's going to be a great big good looking blood hound! Thanks for sharing some of your thoughts. It makes me feel better, anyway.
