About

I started this blog in October 2011 with plans making it a travel blog. I had just read about someone living full time in a van and just like that I was obsessed with that idea. I wrote about the different RVs I had looked at, thought of buying and did buy. I followed a lot of fulltime travelers but by June 2015 I knew those plans would not work for me and three hounds.

By December 2015 the blog turned from RVs to writing about my bloodhound, two basset hounds and daily life in a small rural town in 'the tropics' of Southern Indiana. That still continues today with a slight twist. We moved from 'the tropics' of Southern Indiana to the 'wild west' in Southeastern Arizona in June 2019. Two years later in June 2021 we sold our house in Southeastern Arizona and moved back to a different city in Indiana.

The hounds that started the blog were all gone by June 2021. So not only did our location change, routines changed, the featured hounds and a dog changed. It was now an English Bulldog, Basset Hound and a new Bloodhound. All were bought as 8 week old puppies with Walter being the oldest at 18 months as of August 1st, 2021.

Not only do I post photos of the hounds and the dog (Walter) in their daily lives but I wrote about about trips we made locally from Tombstone, Bisbee, Montezuma Pass or up to the top of Carr Canyon Rd while living in Arizona. Hiking and bicycling are my favorites, besides taking photos and writing this blog. The Huachuca Mountains and Cochise County were a great place to bike ride and hike but that all changed in January 2021.

Those changes were blogged about and the reasons for selling my house with mountain views and great hiking and biking were also blogged about, so I will not go into them on this page.

I'm retired, a bicyclist, amateur photographer, a sports junkie and did some hiking while living in Cochise County.

If you have any questions or comments about anything you read on the blog, don’t hesitate to email me at bhounds3 @ gmail.com (minus the spaces)

All photos are free to download, just give me a little credit if you use them on your blog. For RV info ... check the archives between October 2011 to June 2015. There are lots of photos of basset hounds and bloodhounds and those can be found between 2015 to present. Usually in the month of August every year before 2019 you will find a lot of butterflies. I have a label for "Butterflies" if interested.

Enjoy the blog !!!
