The Heat & Humidity War

Henry was feeling pretty confident as the last bone of three was just to the left of him. You can barely see it between his front legs. The hounds and dog had spent most of the day (week) inside the air conditioned house because they are smart, unlike their AKC ratings. I am not complaining about the heat and humidity because I expected it if we moved. I thought about that before selling my house in Arizona. I also mowed the yard today in the middle of the day getting a good 50 minute workout. That AC felt great as I stepped into the house after trimming around the fence and driveway, then blowing the grass off the drive with a leaf blower. All is good in the hot and muggy "tropics" of Southern Indiana.

Of course with only one bone left, Henry will not be alone for long. No dog fight but a lot of talking, howling, wrestling. In the end Watson didn't care and just enjoyed the freshly mowed yard. Walter???? He is the smartest of all of us and never left the air conditioned house. That is about all I have for you tonight.

College football season starts in about two weeks. Will I go back to the routine I had in 2018 and prior years in Indiana of making it a tv marathon of 14 hours straight, grilling at 10:30 pm before the Pac12 game? Or will it be like the last two falls of Arizona where I didn't spend a lot of time in front of the tv but outside biking and hiking?

Evansville is a great small town city. I love the house, the yard and where we live. Another nice week ahead of us in "the tropics" of Southern Indiana.

  1. Nice to have you check in and great photos of Henry and Watson. Love how you are able to capture their expressions. Missed Walter though.

We have been in the high 70's this week and had fall like weather which has been wonderful after literally weeks of 90's to low 100's. Tomorrow we start heading back to the high 80's. Take care.

    1. Thanks. I didn't realize until I was at the end of the post and didn't have any photos of Walter. He LOVES the AC right now. I don't mind the hot weather, the humidity I can handle but don't prefer it. Fall should be nice.

  2. Nice fence and yard makes the dogs look great. Been chilly here, overcast with drizzle. Spent my day inside with heat on recovering from a stupid fall on a mountain hike.

    1. Thanks. You can look back through the blog to see why I chose that kind of fence. More money than I wanted to spend but after the first day of watching the hounds and dog enjoy their privacy it was worth and has been worth every dollar. Sorry to hear about your fall. Yes, most falls are caused by being stupid, like mine. I sold my mountain bike last spring since I had the gravel bike. With the hip replacement I wasn't going to be riding any trails. Good to hear from you.

    1. Yes they do. I remember a review I read about the breed before buying Walter. "Does not like to take walks, not into exercise, just likes to hang out at the house and enjoy life". I knew that was the dog for me. LOL
