The forecasted rains showed up late yesterday afternoon. They were not heavy rains but were steady and lasted through the night. By 10pm it had let up enough that all five of the crew ran outside to do what they needed to do. Which is worse ... warmer temps and a flooded backyard or single digit temps and a yard hard as a rock? I'll take the warmer temps.
As you can see Watson was definitely not happy about the rain. I'd love to know what is spinning around in those braincells of his.
Not really much going on. I cannot believe it is Friday already. With the wet weather and not much to do I have spent most of my time watching the Senate Hearings on potential cabinet members. I'm not an expert but I don't think the yelling Democrats that interrupt the answers to the questions they ask, are doing their party any favors. Their actions displayed on national tv makes you wonder how those people have been elected over and over to keep their Senate seats. They really make important decisions for the country??
With the rains stopping before we woke up this morning, the sunshine out and a warm 54° a few of the crew will be getting their walks in again. I remember in those old days of walking through the field with a basset hound or two and two bloodhounds on their own off leash ... just how wet that field would get when the rains came after melting snow. Cletus doesn't like rain and will turn 360° once he sniffs the air when its raining, with me holding the patio door open.
Walter has been a real trooper this month with all the bad weather we have had. He has a birthday coming up tomorrow, February 1st .. he will be five years old.
Not a lot of interest in tv at night. I do a lot of channel surfing, glance at a basketball game or two and can't find a movie to watch. Those channels and apps in my tv have thousands of old and new movies to choose from and I still can't find anything interesting enough to watch. With college football over I am going to cancel my YouTube tv service ... I find that Google tv that is built into my Sony tv, which I did know until last year .... that tv service has almost everything for free that I pay YouTube tv for.
You might notice in the background the "what was left of the palm tree" is growing back pretty well. New limbs in the center of the plant are opening up and there are four to five new ones sprouting up behind them. I am watering it less. The replacement that I bought and had some sort of fungus, is still in the living room with dying leaves on green stems. I am not sure if it is dying yet so it sits there.
That is about all I have this morning. I only had a few photos but had the urge to blog a little. I hope to get outside today and I think by mid afternoon I will have the garage doors open with my high pressure hose hooked up to clean the garage floor. It has rain water that leaks in from the shed, mud salt and sand from the car after driving it the snowy streets and those spots when Watson was sick. I usually wait until the Spring to do this type of cleaning but it needs to be done. The only question is, is it hot enough to dry the floor?
Gotta go ... Ava is wanting to go outside and take the other four with her .. she LOVES being outside.
It's a nice bright sunny day here in "the tropics" of Southern Indiana.
Nice update on the crew and weather. Love how they cuddle and cozy up to each other to stay warm. We are having a little warmer weather with frozen snow still on the ground.
ReplyDeleteYou are spot on with your opinion on the Senate hearing. Do these Democrats not realize how foolish they look and are with their antics and questions. If they think this will get them future votes, they are not living in the real world. They do nothing but show disrespect to those they are questioning. Were they not raised to have good manners? Don't think so. JMHO.
The always seem to know how cold it is outside although it is warm inside. Surprised the Senate got the weekend off. I thought they were working until all confirmed.
DeleteGood photos of the crew and hope the water in your yard drains quickly. Those hearings are something else asking the same questions five or six times. They have a responsibility to ask questions but a few have went off the box. It makes the Democrats look bad.

The yard does rain quickly, a couple of hours. I am thinking that is why an owner years ago that added on the grate room, garage etc .. planted zoysia grass ... due to the best absorption but anymore I have very little of that in the backyard. It is all a Democrat show.
DeleteThose Harpies are doing nothing to promote women in Congress & making women look bad. They sit there, men too, not even asking questions but putting out a narritive that has been found to be untrue. They can't admit that they have been lying all along so they just keep pushing hoping the right snipets make it to the lame stream news. They are killing their party AND the media. Highly amusing.
ReplyDeleteHounds and dogs look comfy. My palm moved outside, more scaly bugs moved up from the base and I was done. It's laying out there in the brush area looking like its trying to hang on even with it's root ball exposed.
I am moving my palm outside today too ... in fact outside the fenced yard to the berm. I am not going to plant it, just sit on bare dirt.
