The Storm Has Arrived Early !!

This is Ava's first snow storm and as you can see she is pretty excited about it. The storm was supposed to start after midnight tonight. Most of the heavy snow was to be north of us by 10 miles, I-64. We were to get sleet with an ice storm. So when I turned on the patio light at 6:30am to let the hounds out I was a little surprised that my patio deck was all white.

We Survived New Year's Eve

We did not make any resolutions for 2025 because I found out over the years I never kept them. But Fred out at Out West Bassets looks like he did. Some of you might remember that Fred is Henry's dad. If you go to that link and scroll toward the bottom of the page you might recognize a photo of Henry as a puppy. I sent Michelle a photo of Henry soon after getting him in August 2020, of him sitting in the doorway to the patio in Sierra Vista, AZ.

Rain Makes Me Ramble

This was happening around 8:25am local this morning. I saw on another weather site that before the rain that started last night, we had 51.3" for the year. That 1.6" in upper right corner was a lot more than tv weather told me I would get. I wondered last night if I might prefer it to be colder with snow for easier clean up of hounds and dogs paws. I will talk about my new system of saving my sanity and keeping my floors clean. Otherwise, this weather gave me the urge early this morning to put this post together and ramble a little bit.

Ava And Her Squirrels

It is not only Ava that is that is tormented by the squirrels. If you notice Watson has his left paw up on the fence ready to strike at a moments notice. With Cletus baying in the background while standing on the patio, the squirrel chase was on.

Watson Violently Sick Yesterday

First of all, two things, that photo was take at 6pm last night and Ava woke up this same morning on Thursday with just a slight limb. By Thursday afternoon I could not keep her from being her normal active self.
