A Hounds & Dog Day Afternoon

With a late start to the day and an early game one of a doubleheader starting a little after 12 noon, I didn't have a lot of time to do projects today. I did get my watering finished on all the new plants I bought the other day plus I am now watering the roses, azaleas and other flowers that were planted years ago. I took the hedge trimmer's down along the back fence line trimming back the overgrowth next to where I mow outside the fence.

As you will see ... the hounds and dog called it a day pretty early today ... by 2:15pm, they were finished with any activity.  Photos to follow.

A Hike Behind The House

With all the exciting activity the hounds and the dog had on Sunday, they were in the dream state of sleep very early Sunday night. In fact when I turned off the lights to head to bed, not one of them moved. I left them there to sleep in the dark.

New Year New Template

I have always liked this style of blog but at the time my blog was structured with a sidebar that had photos of each hound and the dog. It had a list of blogs I followed and the archieve of past blog posts. So I chose not to use it. With changes a few months ago to just listing the blog posts and no sidebar, this style became an attractive option. Navigation is a little different if you are on a desktop computer (me) or a laptop. I will give you a brief tour. For those on tables and phones, there should not be much difference in what you see. After a full day of running, playing, barking, eating wood found under the backyard rocks and checking for the dogs next door ... they turn into this usually by 7pm every night.

Henry's Controlled Environment Working

It was quite a surprise how good the new "controlled environment" went for Henry on Friday. He did not have the run of the backyard nor did Walter. I was back to the way I use to train puppies, especially those only 12 weeks old. Once they eat, wake up from a nap or stop after playing hard ... I opened the patio door and he or they went outside. Just like he was taught before I bought him, he peed immediately. But this wasn't so much about house training but prevention of destroying my yard with his digging. I wanted to control what he did in the backyard.
