Some Early Hounds & Dog Play

The room was dark and it was very early when a huge clap of thunder woke me, the hounds and the dog up. None of them are scared of such noise but when they wake up, they head to the patio door to go outside. Only this morning all three stopped in their tracks as it was raining hard outside and they were not going anywhere. They did want their breakfast kibble as the skies roared outside. Finally that storm passed through enough where they could venture outside and do what they needed to do.

Walter Springs Into Action

It was a surprise this morning as we stepped outside, the hounds and the dog went into the play mode almost immediately. Walter checked in with me before he sprinted and jumped off the patio deck into the yard. One a side note by 7:02am all three were in the computer room with Walter and Henry sound to sleep with Watson chewing on a pork slab. Of of course overnight, Watson got taller, stronger and more stubborn. Here are the photos from this mornings activities.

Walter Decides To Have Some Fun

Walter let us sleep a little longer this morning so our day didn't start until a little after 6am. They headed outside this morning all unleashed. I could tell with Henry chasing birds on the ground that he was going to have to be tethered but I was going to wait and see what Watson did. When I came back outside after getting my camera and the card that was still in the computer, I saw Henry looking at something but I didn't see Watson.

New Year New Template

I have always liked this style of blog but at the time my blog was structured with a sidebar that had photos of each hound and the dog. It had a list of blogs I followed and the archieve of past blog posts. So I chose not to use it. With changes a few months ago to just listing the blog posts and no sidebar, this style became an attractive option. Navigation is a little different if you are on a desktop computer (me) or a laptop. I will give you a brief tour. For those on tables and phones, there should not be much difference in what you see. After a full day of running, playing, barking, eating wood found under the backyard rocks and checking for the dogs next door ... they turn into this usually by 7pm every night.

Henry Grew Up Today

Henry grew up today and it started at 4:56am as he ran down the hallway leading the pack outside for their first trip to start the day. He was squatting to pee about 3 feet in the yard while the others moved out to their spots further away. He attacked everybody, including me, at the back of our ankles if he could catch us. I caught him numerous times standing at the dog food container and once chewing at the bag I had left sitting out. He roamed the house on his own and went outside while others slept. He ruled the house today.

For the afternoons entertainment I bought a couple of different sizes of chew toys ... bullie sticks and beef trachea ... of course Henry wanted the larger one and took it away from Walter. Then Stella didn't want her large piece and wanted the smaller size which I had bought for Henry. By the end of the day they had all moved to the size intended for them. Even Heidi, with few teeth, had no problems with the smaller piece.

Blogger is acting up again so this post is the way it is ... for example I cannot get to the bottom of this post to write anything. So it is what it is .. all the photos are out of order, their choice. Somewhere in all the photos you will see a lot of last nights sleeping activity near the couch ... all that movement is the normal night here at the 'dog pound'.
