Can Anyone Rescue This Beautiful Bloodhound ???

This is on Facebook's page "Rescue Bloodhounds". You can search for that page and then scroll down until you see this ad. Carrie Langley really needs some help re-homing "Red". Red is a 4 year old spayed female, she gets along with other dogs but prefers to eat alone. As usual, anytime a divorce takes place lives of dogs might change and in this case it has for Red.

Due to no fault of Carrie's, Red is now sleeping outside at night instead of inside as a house dog. She has been an indoor house dog since she was bought as a 8 week old puppy. She is so gentle, house trained and likes riding in the passenger seat of a car or Jeep. Carrie is needing to find a new home for her due to her work schedule and travel. She has stayed out side with no fence wearing a GPS collar and enjoys being outside during the day.

Football Saturday

As you see in the few photos that I have available to post today, it's another Football Saturday and they will not be doing much more than this. It's cold but sunny. The hounds are fine.

Not Much Going On

The photos may show "not much going on" but when I think back to this past week, a lot of things did happen but not blog photo worthy. Where should I start? The "to do" list continues to have items checked off and a major project was finished this week. Finishing the repair of the lower living room windows and painting the frame. I installed the screens I repaired a few months ago and they look great with the new wood repair and paint job. I only wanted to see how it looked and still don't quite trust the dog (Walter) from tearing out the new screens while I am gone ... so they are stored in the garage. Plus when cleaning windows I see way too many jowl smudges on the windows from the hounds and dog.

IU Cheerleader Gets Biggest Cheer

As my team was being "taken to the woodshed" as some say, in last nights March Madness game in Portland .. the hounds, me, my texting friends and IU fans scattered all over the USA didn't have a lot to cheer about. That was until a shot by Trayce Jackson-Davis bounced off the rim, up and over the bankboard, landing on top of the goal structure full of braces, the shot clock and tv cameras.

Watson's A Changed Bloodhound

I am only guessing that since Watson was neutered the 28th of October, that is the reason for his change in attitude. The differences are obvious so I don't know of anything else I can pin it on. He is only a few weeks older since that unexpected surgery to get that large piece of Mexican blanket out of his blocked intestine. This coming week he will be only 7 months old. One nice thing is, with all the three males neutered, there is less all out fighting taking place over any knuckle bones, the nylon bone with bacon flavor or the Kong balls filled with treats. I still supervise with a watchful though when they have those on the floor or in the backyard. Anything food related has been phased out.

Light Pollution & Watson's Normal

For the third time in 27 days, my house and backyard lit up like an airport runway Thursday night. I had sat down to watch a movie and couldn't figure out the reflections I was getting through my patio door. It was bouncing off the window left of the tv and was blinding me while I sat on my couch. Then it dawned on me what was going on. It was the LED security light from the neighbors barn/shed. It is a motion detection light that never turns off. Or she says it is a motion detection light.

We've Been Very Busy

You better sit down and grab your drink ... A LOT HAS BEEN GOING ON since our last post five days ago. We have been very busy. I will let the photos catch you up. Wednesday morning I was on my hands and knees pulling out weeds, and grass that had grown up through the weed preventive sheets. The south flowerbed had not been touched in years. By noon the humidity was killing me ... at at noon 88° 63% humidity I went inside to drink ice cold gatorade, took a shower and then a nap. That photo shows just how far I had gotten ... where the new dark brown mulch is, with a lot more to go.

Checking Off Tasks Continues

I think I left you last post with Walter supervising my house maintenance. It was another week of that with some added features. It finally got hot, upper 80s, humid to where Stella was panting like the old days. Then it rained right after I mowed the yard as planned. There has not been a lot of rain during the day but I have seen more rain the month I have been here than I did the past year in Sierra Vista AZ. No photos to prove it but my septic tank was pumped clean last week. He said the tank itself was in great shape and that was good to hear since it is 62 years old. The hounds and the dog continue to adjust to their new home, neighborhood with less barking, more relaxing and still getting pets each time they are seen outside.

It Really Was Unbelievable Move

I was going to post this Thursday night but got involved with some other stuff and didn't have the time to write a post. Then Friday night my new internet service lost connection. They scheduled a tech to come out today of all days and he did a thorough exam from the cable box on the telephone pole, my junction box outside the house and finally in my computer room. He found out it was a splitter they include with the self-install kit. So we are back up and running. I did a Speedtest.org and saw I have 480Mbps download speed and over 20Mbps upload speed ... I have never had that fast of speed ever in my internet days.

It's Cold & Snow Is Close

I am a little late with this post because I did say the other day that I would post something this weekend with the hounds and the dog. It took a while to come up with anything blog worthy because they have not been doing much since it's been very cold today after another night of rain last night. You can see we finally have some snow on the mountains. Looking at the Windy app, it shows the snow will start at ground level late Monday night after midnight and will continue through Tuesday morning. But with temps in the 40s on Tuesday it will not stay around too long. Long enough for photos.

What An Amazing Day - Never A Dull Moment

Leaving off from last night, this is what I saw when I was about to turn off the lights. Those are all normal nightly sleep positions. Later on they move to the floor of the bedroom or the hallway if it is too hot for them with the windows open. Lately it's been cool enough at night they find the sleeping bag to sleep on to be beneficial. Little did I know that today would be such a busy day and as I write this post it's not over yet. I continue to load photos in the 2019 posts and am still in the month of January which had a total of 56 59 posts and most of them with 20 photos or more.

Henry Grew Up Today

Henry grew up today and it started at 4:56am as he ran down the hallway leading the pack outside for their first trip to start the day. He was squatting to pee about 3 feet in the yard while the others moved out to their spots further away. He attacked everybody, including me, at the back of our ankles if he could catch us. I caught him numerous times standing at the dog food container and once chewing at the bag I had left sitting out. He roamed the house on his own and went outside while others slept. He ruled the house today.

For the afternoons entertainment I bought a couple of different sizes of chew toys ... bullie sticks and beef trachea ... of course Henry wanted the larger one and took it away from Walter. Then Stella didn't want her large piece and wanted the smaller size which I had bought for Henry. By the end of the day they had all moved to the size intended for them. Even Heidi, with few teeth, had no problems with the smaller piece.

Blogger is acting up again so this post is the way it is ... for example I cannot get to the bottom of this post to write anything. So it is what it is .. all the photos are out of order, their choice. Somewhere in all the photos you will see a lot of last nights sleeping activity near the couch ... all that movement is the normal night here at the 'dog pound'.
