Blog Sidebar & NC Hurricane Survival

Just a short post this morning to show we still have a pulse and I have made some changes to my blog sidebar, plus adding more posts to fill in the empty space that was created with the long list of "blog topics". I will go through and decrease that list to something more readable.

This was Walter a year ago, so you can see not much has changed the past year as far as morning routines. I will post later today with hounds and dogs photos but just wanted to get this post out this morning as an update.

Also a great story here, by someone that experienced the NC hurricane and lived to tell about it plus he adds a fantastic list of things to have to survive in an emergency situation. A LOT of good information on his blog side bar also ... take a look. Keep scrolling on his side bar, a LOT of stuff to look at.

Thanks Ed for sending that to me.

Now for some other stuff.

I wish more people understood this when voting in 20 some days.

My school, Indiana University has never been really good in football. They have had some great teams over their 110 year history but to give you an idea, we have lost more games in the history of college football than any other Power 4 teams. The last time IU went to the Rose Bowl, played on January 1st, OJ Simpson was the player of the game for USC.

Well last winter they finally hired a coach that knows what he is doing and basically said in his introduction press conference when discussing all the other small teams he had turned into winners ...

"I win Goggle Me"

Since his last name is CIGnetti, all the young geeks have done some amazing work for photos. Cigarettes are the theme of their AI generated photos.

IU has a bye week this weekend ... but they are 6-0 and ranked in the Top 25. They were predicted to win no more than 3 games this year.

Some inflation facts to refresh your memory.

Businessmen along with the owners of Disney + made an offer to the commissioners of the BigTen and SEC conferences this week to move teams, the top 70, back into their original conferences set up with a few minor changes for a few teams. I LOVE this idea as I hate current conference realignment.

$9 Billion dollars was being thrown around to make this happen, with all conferences making the same amount of $$Millions from the tv contracts.

The two conferences turned down the offer yesterday saying "College football is not broken and there is nothing to fix". Of course those two conferences, the B1G and SEC are the two richest in all of college athletics.

My friend sold his canoe yesterday to a young man that has everything to camp off grid with this wife and three kids. That trailer is a Patriot Trailer and one of the finest off grid trailers I have seen. He said they were heading out this weekend for a camping trip where everything would be used as it was designed to be used.

That house in the background, the tall narrow portion, is the original farm house of this neighborhood area. The area includes much more than just my street. 62 homes were built on this farm in 1956-1958. Some homes like mine have additional rooms built on them ... but all the houses I have seen have been in great shape after 66 years.

I'll be back later tonight with a new blog post. Check out the new additions to the sidebar.

It's going to be another beautiful day here in "the tropics" of Southern Indiana today.
